Karoutes

I had to cover more than 600 kilometers to find myself in a magical place or planet I should say in the middle of high mountains...
I was appointed in charge of the polling station of the village Karoutes for the European Elections.

Amfissa,

Lidoriki,

Karoutes...
The polling station was an abandoned school. It has not seen a student for more than 20 years and probably won't ever see again...

The schoolyard.

There is one of a lifetime story about this tree opening. During World War II the Greek Liberation Front ambushed a Nazi squad. One Nazi soldier hid inside this tree, inside the hollow of this tree and saved his life. Back then the hollow opening was bigger. After many years the soldier came back to see the place where his life was saved because of this tree hollow.

This block of sheep was not the only one that came to the polling station to vote...
